Over the last decade, governments all around the world have been promoting the use of the new information and communication technologies (ICTs) in all areas of daily life. The nature of this ICT take-up goes beyond using information and communication systems in small transactions, to large-scale adoption of digital technologies that is impacting working systems of governments. A confluence of economic, social, and political challenges accounts for this development.
In light of the importance of ICT technologies, SESRIC has launched the Information and Communications Technology Capacity Building Programme (ICT-CaB). The programme aims to empower the OIC Member Countries across several tiers and address the need for capacity building in Information Communication Technologies (ICT), and to share national policies, strategies, best practices and applications in the area of ICT training and development. In addition, it aims to enhance cooperation and collaboration between OIC Member Countries, including the utilisation of innovative training methods through the use of ICT technologies.
