Civil Registration Capacity Building

OIC recognizes the importance of planning and designing an efficient civil registration system which forms the backbone and basis of production of accurate population statistics, secure identity documents, integration to many e-government applications such as labor and social security, health, education, trade and finance, and enables the routine production of vital statistics that would be a key input for policy-making and planning in human development in OIC Member Countries.

In line with the decision taken during the First Meeting of the Heads and Seniors of National Organizations for Civil Registration (NOCR) of OIC Member States, SESRIC have initiated a special Capacity Building Programme for NOCRs of OIC Member States (NOCR-CaB), and accordingly designed a questionnaire in order to collect information on the needs and capacities of the relevant authorities.
