Hazard control and prevention strategies have been on the agenda of many developing countries during the past half century to assure healthful workplace conditions and security for every working man and woman. Accordingly, occupational safety and health training remains a fundamental element in reducing occupational risk of injury and disease.
In this regard, besides other activities in the field, the Occupational Health and Safety Capacity Building (OHSCaB) Programme has been initiated in early 2010 to address the outstanding needs and ways for improving workplace safety and health in OIC member countries. Within this framework, the Centre is organising short-term occupational health and safety training programmes according to the needs and capacities of the occupational health and safety institutions in the member countries of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
