The Centre, in collaboration with World Bank Global Islamic Finance Development Center (GIFDC) and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) organized a training workshop on “Islamic Banking and Liquidity Management” in İstanbul, Turkey during 16-17 November 2015. The training workshop participated by the middle to senior level representatives from central banks and other regulatory institutions who are interested in Islamic banking, Islamic financial markets and instruments and Islamic liquidity management in financial institutions.

The first part of the workshop aimed to provide information and analyze Islamic banking, Islamic markets and regulatory and supervisory framework in general. In the second part, the emphasis was given to Islamic liquidity management and tools. The workshop focused on case studies based on different country experiences on Islamic banking and their liquidity management tools. Challenges within a post-Basel III environment was also addressed in the workshop.
