Taking the strong support from the representatives of OIC Member Countries after the Workshop on Innovative Social Assistance Strategies in Poverty Alleviation, held in Ankara, Turkey on 12-14 December 2011, SESRIC has established OIC Poverty Alleviation Programme (OIC-PAP) to have more active and vital role in coordination of all possible future events, trainings, capacity building programmes, research and other activities.

While respecting the particular institutional and legislative arrangements in the OIC Member Countries, the Programme will be based on a common framework of objectives aimed at supporting and supplementing the OIC Member Countries ' initiatives in the field of vocational training. Main objectives for implementing the OIC-PAP Programme in Member Countries are;

1. to provide the exchange of knowledge and the best practices among OIC Member Countries, so as to increase success rate;
2. to establish a knowledge hub and a database for future cooperation among the OIC Member States Countries which will facilitate exchanging experts, information, best practices and experiences in various fields related to poverty alleviation, and to facilitate the transfer of best practices from one participating country to others;
3. to provide an efficient monitoring and evaluation system for the continuation of these programmes, transparency and accountability matters;
4. to provide the online Network to follow up the implementation of the future activities;
5. to raise awareness and cooperation for innovative approaches, techniques and methods to accelerate alleviation of poverty in OIC Member Countries.

The Ankara Centre highly appreciates your valued cooperation and urges all related institutions of the OIC Member Countries to participate in the OIC Poverty Alleviation Programme (OIC-PAP) in order to effectively plan and implement training programmes which will, no doubt, add to the specialisation efforts of experts in the OIC Member Countries in general and play an important role in the improvement of human capital in the Member Countries.
