Emergency Medicine Training in Somalia
 
Date : 01 January - 24 February 2013 Venue : Mogadishu Somalia

Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) organized, in collaboration with Aegean International Federation of Health (ESAFED) and Turkish Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA), a training programme on “Emergency Medicine” on 01 January 2013-24 February 2013 in Mogadishu, Republic of Somalia.

The training course was conducted by Dr. Mahmut Esat Ertekin and Dr. Bahadır Davut Şenol from Republic of Turkey. The doctors provided participants with specific recommendations regarding diagnosis and therapy related to emergency care. The target audience was physicians, doctors and nurses who practice in emergency departments and who are seeking an evidence-based, literature-focused update in controversial areas of emergency care. During the training programme, participants was informed on cardio-toxic overdoses, managing the agitated patient, nasty headaches, subarachnoid bleeds-clinical aspects, trauma imaging controversies, diagnostic and therapeutic controversies.
